Claude Willfred May, Jr., 88, passed away Saturday, January 9th, 2021.
He was born December 3, 1932 in Naperville, Illinois to Claude Sr. and Florence (Kreinbrink) May. He married the love of his life, Anna K Pastorek on September 15, 1951 - they had 69 wonderful years together, Claude and Anna were the perfect example of what true love really means. They are also the proud parents of 7 children that love them dearly.
He served in the US Army from 1952-1954 as a medic. He worked as a long haul truck driver for over 45 years during which time the family moved from Illinois to Utah, Missouri and back to Utah. In his retirement years he was a crossing guard at Vista School in Ivins, where over the 11 years he made sure over 1000 children got to school and back home safely. He was a volunteer soccer coach for a while, he loved the children and they sure loved him back. He is a member of the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church where he was a proud member of the Praise Band and many other service callings as well. He loved being outside in the garden pruning his roses and he sure loved his many 4 legged family members. He taught his family the value of hard work and to be honest, He was a great example of how to always be humble and kind. He left us all with many treasured memories. In his 88 years, he touched so many lives in many ways, he made many wonderful impressions on others around him.
He is survived by his wife Ann, sister Patricia Hoolehan, brothers Robert and Richard, children Mike, Tom (Wife Kathie), Tim (Wife Julie), Jeff (Wife Christine), Steve, and Jill (Husband Steve) Tamplin, 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kathy, and brother, Donald.
The family would like to thank all of his caregivers for their services.
A graveside service for family members only will be held with safety guidelines. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date.
Interment will take place in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
