Coleen Barlow Darger

September 20, 1946 ~ March 8, 2021 (age 74)

Obituary

Coleen Barlow Darger, daughter of Joseph I. Barlow, Sr. and Leta Black, was born September 20, 1946, in Short Creek, Arizona. She passed away, at the young age of 74 years, on March 8, 2021, in St. George, Utah, due to a systemic infection.  She is the first of the 18 much-loved and prayed-for children of Joseph and Leta. Coleen has many other siblings, children of J.I. Barlow, all of whom she considered her brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her father. Her mother, Leta, aged 90, is still living and greatly mourns the loss of her best friend.

Coleen married David Ronald Darger, and together they brought 11 beautiful spirits to this earth.  Coleen believed the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brought to earth in this dispensation by Joseph Smith, Jr.  She lived and loved the Celestial Law of Marriage and is survived by Ronnie and her sisters Marie, Diana, and Judy.  She proudly claims and loves the other 40 children who grew up in their home as her own.

Coleen lived a life of love and service.  As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, schoolteacher, and friend, she touched literally thousands of lives.  Although we will desperately miss her encouragement and cheerful smile, we are comforted knowing that we will meet again.

A viewing will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Hughes Mortuary in St George, Utah.  A second viewing will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM, followed by funeral services at noon.
